1

Challenge – Upgrading electrical infrastructure in an active healthcare environment requires continuous power continuity and zero compromise on life-safety systems. The primary facility faced aging power distribution, insufficient capacity for high-draw medical imaging equipment, and outdated emergency backup circuits, creating operational risks during peak demand.

2

Solution – West One Electrical executed a staged, high-capacity infrastructure overhaul, installing new main distribution boards, sub-mains, and dedicated Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) feeds for critical care units. Work was scheduled in precise off-peak phases to isolate circuits without disrupting active patient care zones, maintaining strict infection control and safety protocols throughout the installation.

3

Results & Compliance: The upgraded system significantly increased overall power reliability and capacity for advanced diagnostics, while integrating redundant backup power lines. Full testing and validation were completed, ensuring total alignment with NHS healthcare engineering standards (HTM 06-01) and BS 7671 regulations, delivering a secure, high-resilience power network built for future expansion..
